Our MissionOrganized in 1978, Self Help Center, Inc. (SHC) is a private, not-for-profit community agency desigated by Natrona County and the State of Wyoming to offer support and services to victims of domestic violence, stalking, elder abuse, and sexual assault. SHC's overall mission is to provide crisis intervention, advocacy, support, emergency shelter and transitional services to victims and families suffering from domestic violence by conducting supervised visitations and intensive abuser's re-education programs for offenders; and to educate the community on domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and elder abuse issues for public awareness and prevention-education purposes.
Company ProfileThe Self Help Center has been providing service to the people of Natrona County, Wyoming since 1978. Until 2002 the agency primarily served women and their families. Beginning in 2002 the agency has expanded and will be offering increased services to men through our new residential program "Thad's House". Member of the Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (WCADVSA) Advocates of the Self Help Center receive a multitude of training opportunities. One-on-one, conferences, team-building, video, staff presentation, peer training, job shadowing, and cross-training between departments. Our staff are committed to providing services in a supportive, encouraging environment, with an emphasis on personal safety and education.
